Michael Katz is a man who’s definitely ahead of his time.  Katz has taken a brave leap into the future of medicine and healing, blending traditional Earth-based disciplines with inner dimensional science.  In a way, you could say Katz has enrolled in the newest (and oldest) educational institution a sort of spiritual Academy of Sciences. Katz is being trained by the Gemstone Guardians: inner-world beings of life and light.  This postmodern science is ushering in a form of healing that works simultaneously within the physical and spiritual levels and dimensions of existence.  The Guardians are schooling Katz on the specific mission and purposes of the earth’s gemstones.  Their teachings focus on the use of gemstones as a form of therapy, or "energy medicine."  Katz’s book, Gemisphere Luminary, introduces the Gemstone Guardians and outlines their individual essences and offerings for humanity.  It is the record of Katz’s interviews with thirty different Guardians. Katz offered me a necklace of Aquamarine to wear as we talked.  I placed the light-blue beads on top of my head, and immediately, I experienced a clearing in my crown chakra that I enjoyed throughout our discussion. Katz began with an overview of, well, the nature of how it all works. Katz:  The Earth is a living being. Within the Earth there are concentrations of light.  These concentrations are the Earth’s gemstones. They are like the organs of the planet.  They create life and vitality and perform all know which gemstones work in a certain way, we can use them for our own unfolding, to heal ourselves. We are beings of light, from our innermost essence to our physical body.  We are nourished by a continues flow, and we are a continuous flow of light.  When this light is flowing freely, and radiating from our source to our physical aspect, we’re radiant and alive.  We are joyous, When there are blockages in the light, it creates dark areas in our being. It obscures our radiance.  These dark areas are the cause of all our illnesses and woes and patterns of negative experiences. Kirstin:  When did you first receive these teachings? Katz:  In 1988, through an inner-world experience, I met with individuals who are responsible for fulfilling the purpose and maintaining the effects of gemstones everywhere.  They are the Gemstone Guardians- you could call them the guardian angels of gemstones.  I had been on a spiritual path for a long time, and was practicing forms of spiritual exercises to help open myself up to other forms of awareness.  As I look back, I see that my whole life had been set up for that form of awareness.  I began meeting with the Gemstone Guardians regularly. Every day they presented me with a new discourse. After the interviews with the thirty Gemstone Guardians, I met with their overseer.  She talked about the next step, which was combining gemstones within the same necklace.  Exploring that process took even more time than it did to receive all the discourses for Gemisphere Luminary. Every evening sometimes until four in the morning, we sat down, she taught me the art and science of properly combining gemstones. The main thrust of what the Gemstone Guardians talk about is that because of where we are at this point and time in human evolution- where people are opening up to their inner aspects and where communication is expanding across the planet and within people -communication between the inner, etheric and astral bodies in relation to the physical has changed. Back during the time of Atlantis, people were much more physically orientated than they are now.  The Gemstone Guardians say at that time, crystals were in harmony with people, because crystals and gemstone in rock form are in harmony with the Earth.  They give life and vitality and perform functions for the Earth.

	You can take a crystal and work on people in many types of ways, but it’s pretty much physical, or what they call super-physically oriented.  The energy of a crystal tends to go in one end and out the other.  The Guardians are saying that because of the way consciousness has evolved, we should now work with gemstones in a spherical form- the shape of the sun and the Earth.  When a gemstone is carved into the shape of the sun, it radiates like the sun, in all directions.  If you take gemstones and wear them in a necklace, they surround the core of your being.  Their energies radiate in all directions, filling your entire aura and penetrating every aspect of you, physical and non-physical. Kirstin:  Crystals are more point specific? Katz:  Yes.  The Gemstone Guardians also said that, unless you have clear inner vision, they strongly suggest not using crystals.  People don’t know the power and strength of crystals. Kirstin:  I guess a crystal could amplify or create more of some thing you really don’t want. Katz:  And sometimes you want to take out disharmony, but you don’t know if you’re taking out disharmony or you re taking out life-force, or you don’t know if you’re tearing the fabric of all sorts of things.  Crystals are very powerful, and they need to be used with a really well-trained person.  Someone who has the vision to see what’s happening. The Guardians describe a "sphere mechanism" that takes place in all gemstone spheres.  The spheres draw life force into their center and transform it into gemstone energy.  This gemstone energy is then unleashed from the sphere in all directions.  When you’re wearing a necklace of spheres, their energies radiate into your aura, where they collect information about your needs.  This information is then drawn back to the spheres, which then adjust their energy flow accordingly. It’s a continual process of energy and information flowing into your aura and back into the spheres. Kirstin:  They're like little power sources? Katz:  Yes.  The Guardians also paint the picture of something they call subtle-body anatomy.  We talk about our physical anatomy, about our physiology. They also talk about the fabric of our emotional being and the fabric of our mental being.  Not our physical brain, but how it all works together. Kirstin:  It sounds like a spiritual science. Katz:  They call it super-physics.  It’s a new science.  The gemstones can accompany many other healing modalities.  For example, those working in the counseling field can work with gemstones that help neutralize destructive patterns, that bring in divine love, that help release suppressed emotions, or that help stabilize emotions.  If you look at a gemstone from its mission’s point of view, you have a much greater viewpoint on how it works.  So anyone who wants to work on their organs, or who has a specific condition that way, (the energy of the gemstone) will go wherever it needs to go.  It has its purpose and mission, but its effects will be different person to person.  That is why people with abilities (clairvoyants) look at different people wearing the same gemstone see so many different results.  They are seeing the particular effects on those individuals, not the gemstone's universal purpose. Kirstin:.  Please talk about the missions of the Gemstone Guardians. Katz:  Each gemstone has a mission, or purpose, either for the planet and humanity, or just for the planet, or just for humanity.  There are gemstones who are here just for people; they really don’t affect the planet in any certain way. What people used to talk about when they discussed gemstones were their effects.  But that’s not the real story.  If you took Dark Green Aventurine, and you wore it, and a person looked at you clairvoyantly, they could tell you what it’s doing with you.  But that’s actually more of a side effect. It may or may not be its mission. Say I was wearing Dark Green Aventurine and they looked at me, they might see that it was working on my liver and maybe they would see it working on my kidneys.  If it were you, they might see it working on your lungs.  If it were someone else, it might be their pancreas or their stomach. Kirstin:  Why is that? Katz:  Because they are looking at the effect.  If you are wearing it, and say, your lungs are your weakest area in your body, it would go to that area.  So then someone would write about it and say, ‘Dark Green Aventurine works on the lungs.’ Kirstin:  But that’s not completely true, or, maybe just for me. Katz:  It’s true, but the mission of Dark Green Aventurine is to work on the area with the lowest vibratory rate, or the most distressed organ in the body.  It fills its energy into the organ and it pushes out disharmony.  And, once that organ is uplifted over a period of time, it moves onto the next organ. If you view a gemstone from its mission's point of view, you have a much greater idea of how it works.  Anybody who wants to work on their organs or has a specific calling that sort of way, it will work on wherever it needs to go. That’s how it is with each gemstone.  It has its purpose and mission, but its effects will be different from person to person.  That is why when people look at gemstones, there are so many different things that they are claimed to do, because they’re seeing the effect, and not the purpose. That’s one of the main concepts the Guardians have brought out; that there is a mission behind each gemstone, and in the Gemisphere Luminary, it outlines the missions.  They also talk about therapeutic quality and the way of looking at these gems as medicinal tools. Kirstin:  But what if there aren’t enough gemstones available of this quality or what if we run out? Katz:  The Guardians have shared that the Earth will not give up gemstones that it needs.  There’s a connection with the miners and there are energetic forces keeping people away from what the Earth needs for itself.  The Guardian of Quartz talks about its primary mission being for the Earth, because Earth is very much a place of quartz.  And, Quartz has a sort of a side mission to help in the uplifting of people to help bring more nourishment to the Earth.  One thing that the Guardian of Quartz has shared is that when people wear quartz necklaces, they become more balanced.  As they become more balanced, more life force flows into them, which makes them even more balanced.  It’s a cycle of getting more life force and greater balance.  As they do this, they become greater vehicles to radiate force from these spiritual realms into the atmosphere-which the Earth uses as sustenance. So this is not just about taking from the Earth.  What they’ve said is that it’s all about consciousness.  The higher and the purer we can be has ramifications in all aspects.  If we can become greater vehicles for spirit to flow through us, we give life back to the Earth. Kirstin:  Is that how the Guardians see us? Katz:  They say that the Earth and people are really symbiotic.  The Guardian of Rhodochrosite speaks about how when we want to, when we are stuck in our ability to find a cure for disease, we should look at the planet, because the planet has the similar pathways and energy flows that we have. Kirstin:  The cure might be under our feet? Katz: And the understanding.  Rhodcrosite is a very interesting chapter (in the Gemisphere Luminary).  Anyone wanting information on the Earth, Rhodochrosite is the chapter for them.  It makes correlations about polluted cities, about toxic waste dumps....it talks about how it is uncanny, our relationship with the Earth.  They say there are forces outside of the Earth who love the planet and who are here to make sure it doesn't miss a step in its rhythm. Kirstin:  A lot of us have a measure of guilt surrounding our relationship to the planet.  We feel like we’re injuring, maiming and killing the Earth.  Doesn’t the Earth hurt because we’re being bad to her? Katz:  I completely agree that we must care for the Earth.  But it’s more about raising consciousness than about specifically saving that tree.  And that may be taken the wrong way... Kirstin: I'm sure it will by some.  But we want to show the bigger picture, definitely. Katz:  The Guardian of Amethyst has talked about how, before this time, we were in the age of metal: the Industrial Revolution.  Right now there is a shift happening to more of an age of what Amethyst calls "gem consciousness." People are becoming more like gems: more radiant, more alive, more aware of their inner aspects.  One of Amethyst's roles is to help in the transition as people become less attached to wearing metal, which reflects the metal consciousness. As people wear more and more gems, they begin to reflect that state of radiance. And the sphere mechanism helps them to become more radiant.  The sooner that transition occurs, the more people will just know not to hurt the Earth. Kirstin:  That makes sense.  If you raise someone’s consciousness, you’ve pretty much solved most of the problem right there. Katz:  Plus they’re in a better space.  That’s the bigger game, how to raise consciousness. Kirstin:  Then if someone has a lot of problems, if they’ve been wronged, or come from a bad background and have been hurt by a lot of people, it looks as though they have several different routes of healing.  They can go into therapy and hash it out, or get revenge, or burn all their bridges....But you’re talking about a whole different type of therapy and way of healing, using gemstones to elevate a person’s energy and consciousness so that they don’t go back out and perpetuate that same destructive vibration.  They’ll be putting out something better. Katz:  It’s about using the light of the gemstones to bring light to areas of darkness within us.  That’s the really simple way to look at it.  There are many therapists and physicians around the planet who are working with this, who are exploring it.  Mostly, they are working on themselves and people who are open to it.  In Gemisphere Energy Medicine - Book One , (Katz’s newest book) the Guardian of Lavender painted the picture of a new way of looking at acupuncture.  It talks about how the inner body meridians correlate to the astral body meridians and mental body meridians- then there’s ‘inter body’ meridians.  It has come from being just one model to incorporating the whole spiritual organism.  And Lavender, as a gemstone, is more effective than needles at addressing all those inner acupuncture points.  It’s a whole new concept. Kirstin:  You know, there are some people out there just getting a clue that they even have a spirit! Katz:  As time unfolds, more people will partake in it.  There are books and books still to manifest.  There are years of work still needing to be organized and clarified.  I wanted to bring it out in a way that would stand the test of time.
